Michael and I became acquainted years ago through a mutual friend, so i was honored when he asked me to photograph his and Cristina's wedding. We were catching up over some Italian food and drinks in the East Village when I was first told about the unconventional location of the wedding--Cristina's mother's country home. The house is an old converted cheese factory they call "The Creamery", filled with charming scars of it's former life, nestled in a rural pocket of Pennsylvania. It turned out to be a great escape from NYC. The amount of work that went into preparing the house for this amazing event did not go unseen. They could certainly choose to turn the property into a wedding venue now--just wait till you see how gorgeous everything was.
Cristina looked absolutely flawless. Her dress was both simple and ethereal in the wooded setting, and she sparkled in the heirloom jewelry from her Grandmother.
The early autumn weather was perfect for their outdoor ceremony, the genuine joy of the newlyweds and guests was palpable.
Thanks for including me in your beautiful day, guys! it was an honor and pleasure to be there as your photographer and friend. -John
